We had a great experience with a recent car rental from Avis in mid October. Fast, friendly & very reasonably priced. Our selection indicated we would be in a Chevy Cruz or something similar and we were given a 4 door VW Jetta. Very pleased. When we visit Naples again we will be renting from here.
They had the worst customer service ever. They quoted me one price over the phone and when I got there it had jumped significantly. They told me that I was wrong. They told me they never quoted me that price, but I could call the owner because this employee could do nothing to adjust it. When I left and called the number for the owner the SAME guy who just told me he couldn't help me answered the phone and said he didn't know when the owner would be in or how to reach him - I felt like I was in the Twilight Zone - seriously. I needed the car so I was basically forced to accept whatever price they set. Be careful of this place. Would never rent from there again.
Rented a 2017 Covette for a special occasion for 1 day. Rental agreement was for 1 day or 24 hours. Picked the vehicle up on 03/31/17 and returned in the same condition with full tank of gas before 12noon on 04/01/17. When I recieved my credit card statement Avis and charged me for 7 days and a tank of gas to the tune of $1,689.31. Customer service is a joke and not helpful at all. DONT EVER USE AVIS!!!!!
Lazy customer service. Needed to exchange car due to slow leak we tried to remedy. Chevy Malibu. Told we can go to Firestone and get a plug for $50. Told they had no cars left despite a lot full. Told if we don't want to fix/pay for it our self we could drive up to RSW airport and try there. Then the guy behind the counter just stared at us. Very unhelpful. Perhaps a company directive? Seems to be very predictable at these little strip mall franchises. This is not the first time we have been disappointed with Avis. Not going to give them any more chances.
