We really love this park. It's much more expansive than I think many people realize. It's got an indoor exhibit hall, where you can also take care of getting your county parking stickers or renting pavilions at parks for parties. It has a fitness complex, fields for soccer and softball, a nature/walking path, a water park (called Sun-N-Fun, with an awesome lazy river), and a terrific children's play area. Parent's can relax because the area is enclosed, but open enough for the kids to have lots of fun. There are all sorts of jungle gym things to do, plus the "Can You Dig It" fossil dig. They've got some percussive instruments to play with that even adults find irresistible. There are a number of pavilions there, and if those are all taken the dig it area is also covered. The gym areas have protection from the sun as well. The only parts of the kids area that does not have protection is the swings, which we parents don't understand, but it's still a great park. They have all sorts of activities, classes and camps all year round. A simple search should get you to the county web site where you can find the latest listings of things to do. Oh, and let's not forget that the C'mon Children's Museum is in this same huge area of fun. It's fantastic for the younger kids!
We love this park! My favorite is the paved running trail. Saturday mornings there are remote controlled sail boat races, which are always fun to watch. There are lots of soccer fields (well maintained), and a shaded playground. Just wish the softball fields were open to the public.
Best place to bring your fluffy friends to do your morning walk. Nice and secure path to walk during day but not after dark as you will have wild animals there !!
We've always enjoyed this park! It's right next to the Sun-n-Fun water park, and across the little street from the C'mon Children's Museum. It's all part of a huge park that has paths for biking /walking, soccer & baseball fields, etc. There is a community center where people can work out (childcare as well), and county administration services emerge you can obtain your Collier resident beach stickers, rent pavilions for Park parties, etc. They offer youth programs (Summer camps, etc.) Within the enclosed playground area is a cool (covered) area called "Can You Dig It?" where they have a special substrate kids can play on and dig through. Underneath there are affixed 'artifacts' stock you can identify using the posted signs. Many people bring beach scoops, and even sometimes items to buried that can be found. Those items should be large enough, though, that no child can choke on them. *NOTE" This is a park, and kids will get dirty, especially in the Dig It area, so be sure to have them wear clothes are okay get dirty from playing (maybe even bring extra clothes to change then into), and wipes to clean off their skin. In October 2016 they put canopies over most of the play areas, which is wonderful! The only uncovered play areas are the children's swings, which nobody really understands, because South FL sun is brutal on parents swinging their little ones!
