When I read some of the 1-star reviews, I'm not really sure what the heck these people are talking about. A law school segregating based on race and religion? haha! Talk about a just-add-water lawsuit! As Ben Franklin would say, happiness isn't handed to you, you have to pursue it yourself. Most of the student body isn't Catholic, and Ave Law has one of the highest minority percentages of any lawschool anywhere. Aside from the obvious lawsuit that would be going on if the other reviews were true, it would be pretty dumb for the school to behave in that way.

In today's world competition is everywhere. Success can be measured on how well you beat out the competition. Like every potential law student out there, we research our options when deciding which school to attend. We compare stats, review commentary, and ask others their thoughts about the schools we are interested in. One of my main focal points when deciding which school I was going to attend, was quality. Ave Maria gives their students that strong, quality education that potential law students should be looking for in schools. The professors have the time and dedication to give their students the proper attention to succeed - you're not just a student ID number. Additionally, the school focuses on continuing good moral values in their students. So when I'm asked why I chose to attend Ave Maria, my answer is simple! I chose Ave Maria because I wanted to graduate from a school that produces quality attorneys.

Prior to going, I was hesitant, because everyone was telling you to go to a "big name" school... very, very glad I didn't listen. At the end of the first year, I recall a professor talking to us; he said something to the effect of "Some may not consider us to be in the top tier of law schools, but we will continue working hard until we get there." My (Mormon) friend turned to me and said out loud exactly what I was thinking: "What is he talking about? I feel like this is a top-tier school, and I'm proud to go here!" That sums it up for me.

As I am finishing my second year of law school here at Ave Maria School of Law, I am so grateful to be completing it here. My colleagues are extremely helpful throughout the year, especially during exam season. We all want to see each other succeed, so we all push each other when everything is fighting against us. I cannot believe how fortunate I am to receive a legal education from such prestigious professors. They are an e-mail or one knock on their office away from any help that's needed.

I know several other people who attended other law schools; they're amazed at some of the things we have here; especially the library resources. Not to mention the fact that we're the only law school in Southwest Florida, so there's far less competition for and summer and semester positions.

I'm a current law student in my 3L year. My class started out with a little over 100 students and we still have 84 remaining some will graduate in December and some next May. I chose Ave Maria because it is a small school and I knew it was the right fit for me. The professors at Ave Maria really care about their students. They actually know all of their students names which is unheard of. The professors want to see you succeed and will take the time to sit with you one on one to accomplish that. All of our dean's are outstanding and take time to listen to our concerns. They will meet with you one on one. This law school doesn't see you as just a number or dollar sign they see you as a person. Ave Maria is a private Catholic law school, but there are many students of different religions that attend Ave Maria. This is a law school that doesn't care what religion you are they care about graduating knowledgeable ethical attorney's.

Ave Maria School of Law is dedicated to educating lawyers with the finest professional skills within the Catholic intellectual tradition. Located in Naples, Florida, our intentionally small student body fosters significant faculty-student interaction and adds to the already strong sense of community that our students enjoy. Our rigorous curriculum; distinguished faculty; renowned Research, Writing and Advocacy Program; vibrant externship and clinical opportunities and numerous extra and co-curricular activities ensure that Ave Law graduates are well-rounded and prepared for success in any setting.
