The art displayed in the gallery is phenomenal. The staff know everything there is to know about each piece and seem to know the artists personally. The prices of each piece reflect the quality, which is very high. The gallery has everything from paintings to sculptures, including glass pieces. I would highly recommend anyone looking for a contemporary art piece to stop here and if not, stop by to just appreciate the art.
My wife and I have been to Shaw Gallery many times and we’ve purchased several items from it. Our experiences have been excellent. The service is super, from helping you to select items to installation in your home. It has a very knowledgeable, professional staff that also is very helpful and friendly. The ambiance of the gallery is aesthetically pleasing, the pieces are displayed nicely and it has an excellent inventory. The best way to sum up my impression of Shaw Gallery is to note that whenever I am on Fifth Avenue I go into the gallery because it is a pleasure to wander through it. I find it very enjoyable to slowly walk through the gallery, talk to the staff and enjoy the items on display.
This is the very reason why I DON'T show my work in a gallery. To me, a true artist is someone who has a passion for creating and does so for his/her OWN sake! Please don't discourage and squash those who are following their passion!
I am both an artist and art teacher. I did study art, live art, make a portion of my living from art sales and instruction. However, I do not show my work in a gallery, so does that mean that I'm not really an artist?
I have been a patron of the Gallery since 1997 and have bought several art works. The gallery owner, Barbara Shaw, is most attentive and customer service oriented. The gallery holds three to four "meet the artist" openings each year which are very well attended. It is easy to work with a gallery that has an excellent reputation and in business for over 24 years. Definitely a Naples finest.
The art work is outstanding and the artists very well educated. The staff is attentive and very helpful. They are very knowledgeable and selective in the quality of work that they represent. If you are looking for outstanding work this gallery is a must!
One of my students was recently in the Shaw Gallery and experienced an unprofessional and negative attitude towards those who, like him, are very talented, creative and skilled yet don't choose to do their work for the purpose of showing and selling it. After talking with a salesperson at the gallery with an "attitude", his friend walked away from purchasing a $4500 painting that he had intended to purchase.
